Hello!
As you read the following, as a favor — I’d like it if you focus on it with intention.
That is, instead of using the back of your mind to read through it haphazardly — shift the energy to the driver’s seat upfront. Stop whatever is playing in the background, take a deep breath — exhale. Make the conscious decision to pause your mind from everything else that’s currently bleeding you for attention.
It’s great to finally have you here with me.
A few years ago, I discovered what it meant to be truly present in a moment.
To me, being present means foregoing all alternatives and committing to the moment in front of you. Whether its forced, a choice, or a lucky chain of events — I want to:
Look at someone and communicate: “you matter to me more than to yourself.”
Walk on the beach and vibrate in tune with the waves
Stare into the night, and wonder how many stars are already gone
One of the challenges I find myself in constantly is recognizing that my brainwaves of cognizance aren’t earned in a one-and-done scenario. Too many a times I’ve had the displeasure of being so scatter brained with mental fog that it’s made me misdiagnose the root causes of friction in my life.
Of course, it happens only after I thought I achieved a level of clarity that had me convinced would be the turning point of my life.
I realized that over the last couple of years, because I’ve made regular decisions to work on things purely because I enjoy them, I’ve experienced more moments of intention that I would compare to being awake vs. asleep in the motions of life.
What I’ve discovered is that with any interaction that involves a level of curiosity for the sake of curiosity — typically, the energy of intention is symptomatic.
Never is this energy clearer than when curiosity is peaked in conversation with another that’s on the same wavelength. Time melts, a glowing ball of warmth grows in your chest, and you’re in the driver’s seat with them realizing how weirdly connected and small the universe is.
